Dr Nina Irawati is a Consultant in Allergy – Immunology ENT Department University of Indonesia – Dr Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, Jakarta. She is also the Head of Allergy – Immunology working group of the Indonesian Otorhinolayngology Head & Neck Surgery Society. She is a board member of Indonesian Society for Allergy –Immunology.

Dr Nina has done several researches focusing on Allergic Rhinitis, Nasal Polyps and Occupational Rhinitis. She had attended several allergy courses and workshops in Singapore, Thailand and Europe. Dr Nina is widely known as an invited speaker and instructor on Allergy – Immunology in Indonesia.

Dr Sandra Lin is Associate Professor of Otolaryngology in the Division of Rhinology at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where she is Director of Otolaryngic Allergy Services. Dr Lin currently serves as the Treasurer of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy (AAOA), and chair of the AAOA International Relations Committee. She has taught at numerous CME courses, including the AAOA Basic and Advanced Courses. Dr Lin has several publications in the area of Otolaryngic Allergy and Rhinology. She completed her Otolaryngology Residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin, and founded the Otolaryngic Allergy Clinic at the Southern Illinois School of Medicine where she was faculty prior to joining Johns Hopkins in 2002.

She is one of the leading ENT Allergists in China and has been elected as the Vice Chairman of the Shandong Provincial Allergy Society in 2008. She is active in both clinical care and researches in the field of allergy and clinical immunology. She is also the editorial member of the Chinese Journal of Otorhinolaryngology & Skull Base Surgery.

Prof Zhang Yamei

Professor Zhang Yamei is the Head of Otolaryngology Department in the Capital Medical University affiliated Beijing Children’s Hospital in China. She is also a member of the Standing Committee of Chinese Otorhinolaryngology and Head-neck Society, and Chairman of the Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology Subcommittee. She is a member of the editorial boards of four international and Chinese ENT journals and has published over 40 original articles in the international and Chinese ENT journals. She has profound clinical and research experiences in paediatric airway diseases and sleep disorders. Currently, she is leading two national research projects, which investigate the prevalence and epidemiological factors for allergic rhinitis and rhinosinusitis in 3-5 years old children in China.

A/Prof Chew Fook Tim

After obtaining his Ph.D. in Allergy and Immunology in 1998 from the National University of Singapore (NUS), A/Prof Chew continued his post-doctoral work in the field of genetics of complex diseases at the University of Maryland, Baltimore and Allergy and Immunology at the Department of Paediatrics, National University of Singapore, from 1998 to 2001. He is currently the Deputy Head of Department at the Department of Biological Sciences (NUS). He has been awarded several honours for his contributions to research, education and service. These include: the NUS Outstanding University Researcher Award (1999); NUS Teaching Excellence Awards (2001/2 and 2002/3); NUS Faculty of Science Teaching Excellence Awards (2002/3, 2003/4, 2004/5, 2008/9); NUS Faculty of Science Teaching Honour Roll (2005/6), NUS Office of Life Sciences Young Investigator Award (2003); Tan Kah Kee Young Inventors Award (2004); and CRISP Award for Outstanding UROPS Undergraduate Project (Supervisor) (2008). He was awarded the Singapore Youth Award in 2004, the nation’s highest accolade for individuals under the age of 35, for his contributions in Science and Technology, and his active promotion of the Sciences among youths. A/Prof Chew research interests include Allergic Rhinitis, House Dust Mite Allergens, Auto-allergy, and the Genetics of Asthma and Allergic Diseases.

  Dr Leong Jern-Lin

Dr Leong is a Visiting Consultant to the Department of Otolaryngology, Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and Director of Sinus and Allergy Services in Ascent Ear Nose Throat Specialist Group, Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre. (www.ascentent.com) He obtained his medical degree and ENT residency training in Singapore. During residency, he was awarded the Singapore Cancer Society Fellowship and completed a basic research project attachment in the Department of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, USA . He pursued further subspecialisation in the area of Rhinology & Allergy by completing a one-year hands-on Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, USA under the directorship of Professor Martin J. Citardi and Professor Pete S. Batra in 2005.

Dr Leong is the Director of the ENT Allergy Service and pioneered the immunotherapy service in SGH. His areas of clinical research include allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, image guided surgery (IGS) in advanced trans-nasal endoscopic skull base/nasal work and Narrow Band Imaging for early nasopharyngeal carcinoma detection amongst others. Dr Leong has multiple publications in international peer-reviewed journals and holds several research grants from SGH and the Singapore Ministry of Health.

A/Prof Wang De Yun

A/Prof Wang De Yun is currently Research Associate Professor (Tenure) and Director of Research, Department of Otolaryngology at the National University of Singapore. He completed his medical education and ENT training in China, and was a practicing ENT surgeon until his further study in Belgium in 1989. He obtained his Master Degree in Medical and Pharmaceutical Research (1991) and PhD Degree in Medical Sciences (1995) in the Free University Brussels (Belgium). He was thereafter appointed Director of Rhinology and Clinical Immunology Research at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, University of Ghent, Belgium from 1996-1997. He started as Research Scientist at the Department of Otolaryngology, National University of Singapore in 1997.

A/Prof Wang has published over a hundred papers in the prestigious medical journals and books, and has been invited to give more than 250 lectures in the scientific meetings worldwide. He is a member of the editorial boards of twelve allergy, ENT and medical journals and member of expert committee and writing group for several international and European guidelines and consensus report in allergic rhinitis, e.g., European White Paper in Allergy, European Position Paper in Treatment of Allergic Rhinitis, International Consensus Report on Allergic Rhinitis in Childhood, WHO Initiative: Allergic Rhinitis and its Impact on Asthma (ARIA 2001 and 2008 Update), European Position Paper on Rhinosinusitis and Nasal Polyps (EPOS, Revision 2007). He received the Sam Sanders Basic Science Award given by the American Academy Otolaryngic Allergy (AAOA) in 2003. He is currently the Vice President of the Beijing Ear Nose and Throat College since 2004, and visiting professor of four top medical universities in China. He is also the Coordinator for Asia-Oceania for the Global Allergy and Asthma European Network (GA2LEN).
